You can ensure that your toddler is eating nutritious and delicious meals with these great Summer meal time ideas from Squish – easy and quick to make.
Each of the recipes uses one of the newly launched Squish 100% fruit and veg puree flavours – The three new flavours have been launched with your little one’s growing appetite and food exploration food in mind.
Try these three easy-to-make recipes: bananasicles, cream cheese dip with crudités, bean dip with mini pitas and frozen treats.
Bananasicles
Bananas are the ideal fruit to give to babies and toddlers – high in nutrients and deliciously sweet and tasty. These fun bananas on a stick are a perfect Summer treat for your little one.Ingredients | Method |
2x bananas 1x pouch Squish 100% Pear, Mango + Yoghurt puree 125ml plain yoghurt | Slice two bananas in half horizontally. Insert a wooden skewer carefully into the one end of each banana slice and lay on a baking sheet lined with plastic wrap. Mix together 125 ml plain yoghurt with your favourite Squish 100% Fruit Puree pouch. Spread the yoghurt over the bananas and decorate with sprinkles. Freeze for 20-40 minutes. |
Cream Cheese Dip and Crudités
Cheese can form part of a healthy, balanced diet for babies and young children, and provides calcium, protein and vitamins. Your baby can eat pasteurised full-fat cream cheese from 6 months old and this crudité recipe is perfect for a snack or a lunchtime meal.Ingredients | Method |
125ml (½ cup) plain cream cheese 1x pouch of Squish 100% Sweet Potato, Apple + Cinnamon | Place 125 ml (½ cup) plain cream cheese in a bowl. Stir in half of the Squish 100% Sweet Potato, Apple + Cinnamon Stir well to blend. Serve with freshly washed and cut fruit and vegetables. |
Bean dip with Mini Pitas
This dish is ideal for a little one who loves to feed themselves, packed with nutrients and fun for them to dip.Ingredients | Method |
1x 410g can of Rhodes Quality Butter Beans ½ clove of garlic 1x pouch of Squish 100% Apple, Sweet Potato + Sweetcorn puree 1x tablespoon fresh herbs Salt Mini pita breads | Place once 410g can of butter beans into a food processor. Add ½ clove of garlic. Add 1 pouch of Squish 100% Apple, Sweet Potato + Sweetcorn puree Add 15 ml (1 Tbsp) of fresh herbs and a little salt. Puree until well blended. Serve with toasted pita or fresh bread. |
Frozen Squish Juice Box
These ice lollies will keep your little one cool on a hot Summer day – easy to make without a mould.- Remove the straw from your favourite Squish Fruit 100% Fruit Juice Blend.
- Use a sharp knife to make a tiny slit in the top of the box.
- Insert a wooden skewer.
- Freeze overnight.
- Use a serrated knife to cut the box in half.
- Push the box down a little on a stick to enjoy a great iced refreshing treat.
Useful tip: Waste-not frozen purees
